Official Rules – Esport Rivals
Notice: Rules may be updated regularly. Users should frequently review these rules to remain informed.
General Rules
- Rules may change at any time without prior notice. Regular checks of these rules are recommended.
- All users must familiarize themselves with and adhere to the rules.
- By initiating or accepting any match challenges, you confirm your understanding and acceptance of these rules, applicable to both direct and Match Finder challenges.
- Fair play is critical at Esport Rivals. Cheating, intentional disputes, or abusive behavior can result in severe penalties, including suspension or ban. All accusations must be supported by clear proof.
- Only one individual per household may hold a management role (Leader or Co-Captain) on a ladder team. Multiple participants from one household can compete, but not manage multiple teams or compete against household members.
- Harassment or disrespectful conduct toward volunteer staff is prohibited and will lead to removal from Esport Rivals.
- Team name changes can only be requested by team Leaders via a support ticket. Team names must comply with community standards and not duplicate existing team names.
- All user-generated content (team names, logos, bios, avatars, website links) must adhere to community guidelines and forum rules.
- Teams must maintain an active roster of eligible players. Inactive or abandoned teams can be removed by administrative discretion.
- All user accounts are owned by Esport Rivals. Buying, selling, trading, or otherwise transferring accounts is prohibited and will lead to termination.
- Users must use unique usernames personally registered with accurate personal information. Falsifying registration details may disqualify users from competitions and prizes.
- Team invitations must be personally accepted by the invited user. Violations can lead to disqualification and loss of prizes.
- Sharing account details (usernames, passwords, emails, etc.) is strictly forbidden. Violations risk disqualification and account removal.
Incorrect rules
- If game rules or maps are incorrect, either team may leave to re-host and attempt corrections within the start time limit.
- Rounds played before leaving are counted.
- Hosting incorrect rules may result in map or match forfeit at an admins discretion.
- Leaving to reset rules with streaks may forfeit a round or match for the leaving team at an admins discretion.
- All admin decisions are final.
Rosters
- Teams are responsible for verifying all players’ eligibility before matches start. Matches involving ineligible players result in forfeits.
- Teams must replace ineligible players within set time limits (15 minutes before match start, 5 minutes between maps/rounds). Immediate submission of a support ticket is required if the opposing team fails to comply. Proof of eligibility violations must accompany the ticket for match results to be adjusted.
- Gamertags listed must be valid and accessible to the player. Teams listing inaccessible or invalid gamertags risk being locked.
- Players must only join one team per ladder, have a single accurate gamertag per ladder, maintain appropriate gamertags without offensive content, show a green eligibility icon to participate, and strictly follow any listed player restrictions. Banned users cannot participate.
Challenges
- Teams needing to cancel accepted matches must submit cancellation requests at least 24 hours in advance. Matches can be canceled at any time with mutual agreement. If teams do not mutually agree to cancel, the match must proceed. Map vetoes must be completed within 15 minutes of match acceptance or risk forfeiture.
No-Shows
- Teams must have the required number of eligible players ready within 15 minutes of scheduled match time, or they will forfeit the match.
- Teams claiming no-show victories must submit proof via ticket within 30 minutes after the scheduled start and report the win.
Tickets
- Users must avoid contacting staff directly regarding ticket statuses. Infractions may result in penalties.
- Tickets must include complete and accurate information, such as team names and match IDs, to avoid dismissal.
- Staff decisions are final. Users may only submit new tickets for reconsideration if presenting additional evidence.
Cheating
- Communication during matches is limited to in-game systems unless explicitly stated otherwise. External communications giving competitive advantages are prohibited.
- Esport Rivals has a zero-tolerance policy on cheating, glitching, or exploiting game mechanics. Violators will be banned.
- Teams receiving unearned victories must report this immediately via ticket. Failure to do so results in team removal.
Staff and Referees
- Staff assistance during matches is available through Discord.
- Verbal abuse towards staff members will not be tolerated and can result in team lock or individual bans.
- Staff decisions during matches are binding. Disagreements should be resolved post-match via ticket submissions and not by intentional disputes.
Proof Requirements
- Teams must provide clear and detailed proof of match victories, displaying full in-game scoreboards with visible gamertags and scores.
- Video and image proof should be hosted on reliable sites like YouTube for videos or image hosting services. Proof URLs must be included in ticket submissions.
- Accusations of cheating or glitching require comprehensive and clear proof submitted via a ticket.
- Personal communications (emails, private messages) are not considered valid proof.
Violation of these rules can result in temporary or permanent suspension from Esport Rivals.
